Abstract

PIP: In response to criticism on his article about evaluation of a program for preventing adolescent pregnancies, the author replies that the moral and ethical considerations are indeed important. However, since teenage pregnancies do abound, the physician must take the responsibility for helping to prevent unwanted pregnancies among the adolescent population. The question is not whether such pregnancies should be prevented but which approach is most appropriate and effective for their prevention.
