[Homologous and heterologous antibody induction in influenzal infection and immunization]
Abstract
Serological examinations were carried out in 72 patients with influenza and 384 volunteers immunized with a vaccine from different strains of influenza A virus. A high level of antibody (greater than 1:64) was found to protect against influenza infection by a homologous strain as well as strains with certain immunologic affinity in the main virus structures, hemagglutinin and neuraminidase.
