Cardiac arrhythmias: mechanisms and management: II. Electrocardiographic analysis of cardiac arrhythmias
Abstract
Optimal diagnosis may require continuous monitoring, intracardiac studies, or provocative electrophysiologic testing, in addition to the standard 12-lead ECG. One must keep in mind that clinical significance is largely a function of the patient's clinical condition and of the arrhythmia's site of origin. In general, supraventricular arrhythmias are less threatening than ventricular.
