Venous thromboembolism. Prevalence, risk factors, and prevention

Abstract

Venous thromboembolism is a major source of morbidity in hospitalized patients. A knowledge of the factors that increase the risk of development of this condition can be utilized to plan appropriate and cost-effective preventive management.
