Treatment of pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis with thrombolytic therapy
Abstract
Pulmonary embolism remains one of the most common causes of in-hospital death. Mortality is much greater in those patients who remain undiagnosed and without specific treatment. Thrombolytic therapy is a vital addition to the treatment of pulmonary embolism, deep venous thrombosis, and arterial thromboembolism.
