[Cell proliferation study at various stages of gastrulation in axolotl embryos]
Abstract
A study of cell proliferation in different regions of axolotl embryos has shown a rather uniform distribution of the S phase and mitotic indices in the animal half of the early and midgastrulae. The dorsal blastoporal lip is characterized by a very low S phase index as compared with the other regions of the embryo.
