[Focal acantholytic dyskeratosis in verruca seborrheica]
Abstract
One case of seborrhoeic keratosis with extensive acantholysis and moderate dyskeratosis is reported. The histological features ressembled those of Darier and Hailey-Hailey diseases. Another seborrhoeic wart simultaneously removed had no microscopic abnormalities. The dermatoses in which focal acantholytic dyskeratosis has been observed are reviewed and similarities and possible relationships to epidermolytic hyperkeratosis are discussed. The relative lack of specificity of these changes is emphasised as well as the occasional coexistence of both types and the variability of histological patterns observed on Grover's transient acantholytic dermatosis. These facts suggest a close relationship between the above mentioned histopathological patterns concerning the mechanisms of its production.
