Alcohol and expectancy--II. Perceived sex differences in the role of alcohol as a source of aggression

Abstract

Previous expectancy surveys associate aggression with male drinking. This study confirms the finding from a reversed standpoint. Students listed the causes of male and female aggression. Males ascribed a greater role to alcohol in aggression per se than did females; they also held narrower sexual stereotypes about causes.
