Adult abdominoscrotal hydrocele

L E Lampmann et al. Diagn Imaging Clin Med. 1984.

Abstract

Abdominoscrotal hydrocele is very uncommon in both adults and children. A case is presented of an unusually large abdominoscrotal hydrocele in an adult associated with unilateral hydronephrosis owing to contiguous pressure. To our knowledge this is an unique case in which the preoperative diagnosis became apparent after abdominal ultrasound. An IVU and an abdominal CT study confirmed the sonographic diagnosis. An entity as such has never been reported nor has it been presented in recent literature.
