Late-life paranoid states: assessment and treatment
Abstract
Paranoid states are a frequent and often disturbing disorder in the elderly, but treatment potentials are often overlooked. Etiological factors are reviewed, with attention to differential diagnosis. Treatment issues, including the role of a therapeutic relationship, the impact on the person's social network and prognosis, are discussed.
