Abstract

KIE: A report adopted by the Council of Europe lists eight recommendations on the legal, ethical, and social issues raised by recombinant DNA research. The legislators stressed that the right to a "genetic inheritance free from any form of engineering" should be included in the European Human Rights Convention, and that safety regulations throughout Europe should be monitored and harmonized.
