One-Year Actuarial Survival in Patients Given Liver Transplants. The follow-up period ranged from eight to 14½ months. The figures above the symbols denote the numbers of patients alive at different intervals. The open circles represent survival in the 12 patients who lived through the operation and were treated with cyclosporin A and prednisone, the solid circles represent survival in all 14 patients who underwent transplantation (including the two who died during the operation), and the crosses represent survival in 170 patients from a previous series who were treated with conventional immunosuppressants.
