[Electron microscopic study of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis in dogs. I]
Abstract
Disturbances typical of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) are determined to be formed already in the initial period of sensibilization. In the spinal cord the lesions appeared relatively earlier than in the brain. Just before the neurologic manifestations of EAE a deep destruction of some myelinized axons and phagocytosis of myelin by oligodendrocytes are registered in the brain and spinal cord structures. Alterations in neurocytes and degeneration of synapses of the light type are characteristic.
