Successful desensitization in case of solar urticaria with sensitivity to UVA and positive passive transfer test
Abstract
A severe case of solar urticaria induced by UVA with positive results of passive transfer test (3 recipients) and reverse passive transfer test (2 recipients) is reported. Desensitization treatment by irradiation of particular parts of the body with UVA and UVB (to accelerate tanning) was fully effective. A marked increase of the tolerance to UV remained during the period of over five years of follow-up.
