Abstract

Currently available methods for determination of trichothecenes are evaluated primarily for accuracy, precision, and limits of detection. A few of the more accurate and sensitive methods are discussed further with respect to convenience and number of trichothecenes determined. The best technique to date for quantitating trichothecenes is gas-liquid chromatography with electron capture or mass spectrometric detection, subject to available instrumentation.
