[Bowenoid papulosis and Bowen's disease of the vulva]
Abstract
The histological features of "bowenoid papulosis of the vulva" are practically identical to those found in Bowen's disease, and the differential diagnosis between these two lesions is based upon clinical data alone. The distinction between the two lesions is of importance as Bowen's disease represents a precancerous dermatosis and bowenoid papulosis a probably benign lesion of viral etiology. The clinical and histological features and therapy of the two vulvar diseases are analyzed and discussed in the light of 18 personally observed cases.
