Abstract

A new instrument was constructed to improve the Tru-Cut needle biopsy technique. With the aid of this instrument the biopsy procedure could be carried out with one hand, and as the movements of the Tru-Cut obturator and cannula were automatized, better tissue specimens were obtained. All biopsies could thus be performed by one examiner under dynamic ultrasonic control.
