Success rate in the treatment of amblyopia by conventional methods

T C Jenkins et al. Ophthalmic Physiol Opt. 1982.

Abstract

Conventional methods of treatment were given to 50 young amblyopes, with the result that 26% showed no improvement and 50% improved by at least two Snellen lines. A 0.67 correlation coefficient was found between acuity before and after treatment. Whilst there was some differences in approach to convergent squint amblyopes and to non-squinting amblyopes, the degree of success in the two subdivisions was similar.
