Scanning electron microscopy of early postmortem artefacts in the small intestine of a neonatal calf
Abstract
The stereoscopic appearance of early postmortem artefacts in the small intestine of a normal calf was examined with the scanning electron microscope. Swelling of villus tips and denudation of a few villi was observed 10 min after severing the carotid arteries. Similar changes were not seen in samples removed under anaesthesia.
