The mechanism of agglomeration of leukocytes in allergic reactions in tuberculosis

M L Kitaev. J Hyg Epidemiol Microbiol Immunol. 1980.

Abstract

Incubation of blood of tuberculous patients with tuberculin and homologous lung antigen under certain conditions results in the agglutination of leukocytes. The mechanism of this phenomenon includes the reaction of the antigen with antibodies on the surface of the cell. This makes it similar to the reactions of immediate hypersensitivity. The mechanisms of leukocyte agglomeration in tuberculosis with tuberculin and with the lung antigen are similar.
