Bovine egg transplantation. Preservation of embryos
Abstract
The original method of embryo storage involved very slow rates of cooling and thawing, but current techniques for rapid thawing and two step freezing are being developed which have greatly simplified the whole embryo storage procedure. Good survival and pregnancy rates can be achieved after thawing and removal of cryoprotectant and transfers of frozen/thawed bovine embryos to heat synchronized recipients.
