Abstract

A 34-year-old woman who had had intractable pruritus for 2 years experienced dramatic relief from the symptom under treatment with cimetidine. On investigation, stage IIIb Hodgkin's disease was diagnosed and responded well to chemotherapy with a remission lasting now for 2 years. After the beginning of chemotherapy cimetidine was discontinued and the pruritus did not recur.
