Vernier acuity and stereopsis with discontinuously moving stimuli
Abstract
Apparent stereoscopic disparities or vernier displacements in moving stimuli can be introduced by temporal delays as well as by conventional spatial shifts. A method is described for observing these effects in dynamic dot patterns containing motion sequences of determinate length. The implications for theories of stereoscopic and vernier acuity are discussed.
