Transluminal angioplasty: a long view

Transluminal angioplasty: a long view

C T Dotter. Radiology. 1980 Jun.

Abstract

The history of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty is briefly reviewed, from its initial, inadvertent use in 1963 to its current extensive applications. Transluminal angioplasty is equally as effective as surgery for stenotic lesions, and has the advantages of being safer and less expensive for the patient.
