Abstract

Ultrasonographic imaging has achieved a widespread use in neonatal intensive care units for diagnostic and screening purposes. Investigated sites are brain > heart > kidney > abdomen. In preterms < 33 gestational weeks and terms after asphyxia brain imaging has prognostic significance.
