Preparation and counts of particles in electron microscopy: application of negative stain in the agarfiltration method

E Kellenberger et al. Microsc Acta. 1976 May.

Abstract

The agarfiltration method, published by Kellenberger and Arber in 1957, has been adapted to negative stain with sodium phosphotungstate and uranyl acetate. The technique is described in detail including all recent improvements. The precision obtainable in particle counts is discussed for agarfiltration and sprayed droplets.
