Encountering victims of interpersonal violence: implications for critical care nursing
Abstract
Victims of interpersonal violence are entering the arena of critical care with greater frequency. Nurses in an acute care setting can play a pivotal role in early identification and intervention of high risk populations. This article profiles the epidemiology and risk factors of three vulnerable populations: pregnant women, adolescents, and the elderly.
