Dermatologic aspects of sports medicine
Abstract
The skin is the barrier between the athlete and the sports milieu and is subjected to many insults. The purpose of this article is to review traumatic injuries to the cutaneous infections, environmental injuries, and exacerbation of preexisting dermatoses, which occur in sports enthusiasts. Emphasis will be placed on prevention and early therapeutic intervention.
