Cytological effects of the oral contraceptive
Abstract
PIP: Literature on the cytological effects of oral contraceptives (OC) is reviewed. The effects of OCs on the lymphocyte response to PHA, and chromosomal abnormalities produced by OCs in leucocytes, and in the offspring and aborted fetuses of women who had taken OCs are reviewed. The significance of lymphocyte transformation and considerations in future research of chromosome abnormalities are discussed.
