[Results of kidney transplantation. Further development or stagnation?]
Abstract
The phase of enthusiasm for clinical kidney transplantation has been followed by some reserve during the last few years, particularly in the Federal Republic. Analysing the reasons, the limited results achievable today by kidney transplantation is only one answer; others lie in various organizational difficulties. It is concluded that advances in hemodialysis as well as in kidney transplantation furnish a solid basis for a close integration of both therapeutic methods.
