[Reproductive function after the organ-preserving treatment of early cancerous pathology of the cervix uteri]
Abstract
Reproductive function was examined in 200 women after organ-sparing surgery for micro- or preinvasive carcinoma of the cervix uteri or its dysplasia. Cold knife amputation was performed in 87 patients, laser amputation in 64, conization of the uterine cervix in 20, and cryotherapy in 29. The mean age of the patients was 29.8 years. Ninety percent of patients were followed up for more than 5 years. After treatment 75 women had 104 pregnancies, 20% of pregnancies ended in delivery of healthy children; spontaneous abortions and preterm deliveries occurred in 25.9% of cases.
