Abstract

This review article reports the present stand of knowledge in regard to recent therapeutic developments in the general management of severe burns. Especial emphasis is placed on the importance of parenteral nutrition, qualitatively and quantitatively correct fluid replacement and acidosis phrophylaxis or early, specific treatment of acidosis for survial.
