Florence Nightingale's personality: a psychoanalytical profile
Abstract
This study was to examine and analyze Florence Nightingale's early years as a child and their influence on her adult behaviour. The findings indicate that (a) Nightingale, contrary to how she portrayed herself, was an artful manipulator of people, and (b) although her achievements were many and only reached at high cost, some were highly exaggerated.
