Abstract

The restructuring of healthcare delivery systems has increased the need for professional nurses who are skilled in managing various levels of assistive personnel. The authors provide an overview of issues related to supervision and delegation and discuss the legal responsibilities of registered nurses when delegating nursing care activities to unlicensed assistive personnel.
