Ketotifen in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Results of a double blind study

E S Falk. Riv Eur Sci Med Farmacol. 1993 Mar-Apr.

Abstract

In a double-blind study, half of 56 adult patients with atopic dermatitis were treated systemically for 3 months with ketotifen capsules 1 mg two times daily, while the other half was given placebo. The patients in the ketotifen group improved significantly during the treatment by all the clinical assessments. On the other hand, the patients in the placebo group were improved by only one assessment. The overall efficacy of treatment was significantly increased in the ketotifen group. No drug-related side-effects were observed.
