Abstract

Today, as we approach the 21st century, research is being conducted in fetal surgery. Given the selection process and the limitations of our present technology, only a few malformations can be managed through a fetal surgical intervention. As the "fetal specialists" develop new techniques and educate others, nurses must remain a critical member of the fetal surgical team.
