Urachal carcinoma: the case for extended partial cystectomy

H W Herr. J Urol. 1994 Feb.

Abstract

A total of 12 patients with urachal carcinoma was managed by extended partial cystectomy. Of these 12 patients 10 were free of disease at 1 to 13 years, including 8 beyond 2 years. No patient had a pelvic or bladder recurrence. Early diagnosis of a contained urachal tumor favored complete resection by wide surgical excision and a good prognosis.
