[Epidemiological trends of primary lung cancers]
Abstract
Due to a dramatic increase in the present century, lung cancer is now undoubtedly the most frequent cancer in the world. Their principal risk factor for lung cancer is active smoking, but passive smoking is also responsible. Eighty to 90% of lung cancer cases in men and 50 to 75% in women are caused by tobacco smoke. The most effective prevention is cessation of smoking.
