The health care of young adults with cerebral palsy
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the health status and provision of health services to young adults with cerebral palsy.
Results: Ninety-seven per cent had ongoing health problems. Consultations with most health professionals declined markedly after leaving school.
Conclusions: Young adults with cerebral palsy have considerable, continuing impairment and disability. Lack of contact with health services after they leave school may adversely affect their health status.
