Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis presenting as massive hemoptysis in a nonimmunocompromised host
Abstract
An 83-year-old nonimmunocompromised man presented with hemoptysis that progressed to respiratory failure and death. Bronchoscopic cultures grew Aspergillus fumigatus antemortem and an autopsy confirmed multiple abscesses with Aspergillus confined to the lung.
