Arterial vascularization of the interatrial septum in the human heart in relation to the type of coronary ramification
Abstract
On 130 randomized specimens of human heart, of both sexes (19-86 years of age) I have investigated the vascularization of the interatrial septum of the heart in relation to the type of coronary arteries ramifications using dissection and injection-corrosion methods. The interatrial septum is supplied by the right and left anterior atrial branches and right and left posterior atrial branches. The blood supply of the posterior part of the interatrial septum is related to the type of the arterial vessels of the heart. Anastomoses between branches of the right and left coronary arteries occur in the septum.
