How food and fluid affect drug absorption: results of initial studies
Abstract
The rate and extent of absorption of many drugs may be influenced by the presence of food in the gastrointestinal tract and by the volume of fluid ingested with the dose. In most cases, food appears to inhibit or delay drug absorption. Relatively large fluid volume, on the other hand, appears to enhance absorption.
