Anticoagulation in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation
Abstract
Atrial fibrillation is a common cardiac arrhythmia. Management of atrial fibrillation should focus on prevention of thromboembolic complications and the treatment of arrhythmia related symptoms. This article will discuss anticoagulant therapy in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and review results from several controlled trials.
