Abstract

Analgesic pharmacotherapy with nonopioid and opioid analgesic agents is the mainstay of treatment for patients with cancer pain. This article reviews the clinical pharmacology of these agents and presents practical guidelines for drug selection, dosing, scheduling, and the management of adverse effects.
