Comparing uvulopalatopharyngoplasty and laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty

D J Terris. Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 1997 Mar.

Abstract

Finkelstein et al have attempted to provide objective data regarding laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty (LAUP) and uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP). Their study represents an important and ambitious undertaking because there is a paucity of anatomical studies in the literature. There are several significant concerns in the design of the protocol, however, that require caution in the interpretation and application of the results.
