Perforated duodenal diverticulum

Abstract

Duodenal diverticula are found in up to 20% of the population but only few patients require surgery for acute complications. Perforation is the rarest of the complications, just over 100 cases have been reported in the world literature. Besides a case report, the characteristics and the therapy of duodenal diverticula are reviewed in this report.
