Adjuvant chemotherapy for testicular cancer
Abstract
Two treatment options cure nearly all patients with pathologic stage II testicular nonseminomatous germ cell tumor following a retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. These are (1) two cycles of adjuvant etoposide plus cisplatin (with or without bleomycin) chemotherapy and (2) close surveillance with chemotherapy reserved for relapse. The decision to choose one of these options is dependent on the extent of tumor involvement at surgery and patient compliance.
