Diagnostic radiology in fundoplication according to Nissen
Abstract
Radiological examination of oesophagus and stomach after fundoplication with hiatoplasty for hiatal hernia reveals unmistakable evidence of this intervention, and this indicates a good result. After relapse of the hiatal hernia, with or without reflux, the fundoplication is no longer recognizable, apart from a distinct demarcation of the oesophageogastric junction in some cases. The criteria for evaluation in the case of relapse are the same as those for preoperative evaluation.
