The role of the occupational health nurse in risk management of upper extremity complaints
Abstract
The nurse functions as a liaison between the injured employee, the insurance carrier, the employer, and the referral physician. Frequently, the nurse's position allows knowledge of psychosocial stressors and task assignments that is not as readily available to other participants in the process of managing a work-related injury.
