A broken needle in the pterygomandibular space: report of a case and review of the literature

Abstract

Modern manufacture and materials have made needle breakage rare, but not impossible. Retrieval of the needle fragment may be helped by various localizing techniques. The authors outline and discuss these techniques, and describe the successful removal of a fractured needle from the pterygomandibular space.
